New Bern, NC (July 14, 2020) – A 46-year-old woman was charged with DWI after crashing into a bicyclist in New Bern. The crash happened along Landscape Drive on Sunday, July 12th just before 11:00 a.m.
According to a report, the New Bern Police Department responded to the crash scene. When police arrived, they located a 32-year-old man in the roadway suffering from injuries. The man was identified as a Marine who was stationed at Cherry Point. Officers determined that the man was struck by a vehicle driven by 46-year-old Sanna Suarez.
Following an investigation, Suarez was charged with driving while impaired and driving left of center. The victim was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center with serious injuries. An investigation into the crash is ongoing at this time.
