Hoke County, NC – Teen Killed in Monday Car Accident on Army Road

Hoke County, NC (July 29, 2020) – A teenager was killed and three others were injured in a car accident that took place in Hoke County on Monday, July 27th. The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. on Army Road near the town of Aberdeen.

Troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol were called to the scene shortly after the crash took place. According to reports, a PT Cruiser was traveling southbound on Army Road. The Cruiser was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the car to run off the road and strike a tree before coming to rest.

There were a total of four occupants in the vehicle at the time of the collision. A teenage passenger in the front seat was pronounced dead at the crash scene. One other occupant was airlifted to UNC Hospital Trauma Center with serious injuries. The driver and another passenger were taken by ambulance to Moore Regional Hospital but were later transferred to UNC as well. There is no further information on the condition of the victims at this time. No one involved in the accident has been identified.

Police are still conducting an investigation into the crash. There is no further information available and no word on whether charges are expected.
