Winston-Salem, NC – Two Hospitalized Following Crash on University Parkway

Winston-Salem, NC (May 11, 2021) – Two people suffered injuries following a car accident in Winston-Salem on Saturday, May 8th. The accident was reported along University Parkway at the intersection with West 14th Street.

According to officers, a driver was operating a 2012 Nissan Altima northbound on University Parkway. At the same time, a black 2013 BMW X5 was going south on University. According to officials, the Altima driver tried to make a U-turn but failed to yield the right of way to the BMW. The two cars collided at the intersection. A juvenile passenger in the Altima and a 55-year-old woman from Winston-Salem in the BMW were hurt in the crash. Both were taken to a nearby hospital by Forsyth County EMS.

Following an investigation, it was determined that the Altima had been stolen out of Greensboro. Police say that charges are pending against the Altima driver.
