North Carolina Car Accidents  Winston-Salem, NC - Shenita Cox Hurt in Car Crash on Grove Avenue

A North Carolina car accident can happen very suddenly and unexpectedly. Unfortunately, many serious car accidents in our state are caused by drivers who are impaired. According to recent statistics, there are more than 7,500 drunk driving crashes in North Carolina per year, leading to approximately 500 deaths and thousands of injuries. A drunk driver is unable to appreciate and understand the dangers of driving due to their impairment. This often results in a violent crash that takes place at high speeds with little effort made to avoid the accident. The drunk driver is usually unable to realize the danger they have caused until it is too late.

If you or your family member has been involved in a crash with an impaired driver, the law could be on your side. Under North Carolina personal injury law, accidents involving drunk drivers are treated harshly. Victims of these accidents can recover their medical bills, lost wages, and other damages stemming from the crash. The individual may also be entitled to punitive damages as a form of punishment for the driver who chose to drive while under the influence. The value of your case can only be determined by an attorney who has the necessary skill and experience in handling drunk driving accident claims.
