Wilmington, NC – Garcia Estrada Hurt in Market St. Crash near Judges Rd.

Wilmington, NC (May 2, 2021) – A man from Wilmington was injured in a car accident that took place on Wednesday, April 28th. The accident was reported on Market Street near the intersection with Judges Road at approximately 5:45 p.m.

Officer J.F. Knott of the Wilmington Police Department responded to the scene of the crash. According to Officer Knott, Juan Cuevas-Burgoa, of Wilmington, was traveling eastbound on Market Street when a vehicle slowed in front of him to make a left turn into a parking lot. Cuevas-Burgoa failed to slow down and collided with the back of the vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle, Garcia Luis Estrada, was injured in the crash. Estrada suffered a knee injury and a laceration to his head. He was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for further treatment. Cuevas-Burgoa was not injured but was cited for failure to reduce his speed to avoid an accident.
