Pedestrian Accidents in North Carolina
Pedestrians are extremely vulnerable to being seriously injured or killed when they are involved in crashes. A North Carolina pedestrian accident can certainly be a devastating event for victims and their families. According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, more than 80% of all pedestrian accidents in our state result in some type of reported injury. The number of deaths due to pedestrian crashes has also risen recently, indicating a troubling trend. Pedestrians who are struck by vehicles are likely to suffer major injuries, including broken bones, head trauma, soft tissue injuries, and spinal cord trauma.
If you or a loved one have been affected by a pedestrian accident in North Carolina, you should seek legal counsel as soon as possible. If the crash was not your fault, you may have legal rights, including the right to recover from the driver for your pain and suffering, medical bills, and more. In cases of severe injuries, your financial obligations can quickly add up and can spiral out of control as you obtain the medical treatment that is necessary for your recovery. Having an attorney who can fight for your right to receive compensation can mean the difference between receiving reimbursement for all of your medical bills or being left financially responsible for a serious accident.
