Kinston, NC – Four-Year-Old Seriously Hurt in Pedestrian Crash on Rouse Road

Charlotte, NC (October 13, 2020) – A child was injured after being hit by a car in Kinston on Monday, October 13th. The collision took place around 10:35 p.m. on Rouse Road near the intersection with Crestwood Drive.

The Kinston Police Department responded to the accident scene shortly after the crash occurred. According to police, the boy was playing near the crash scene when he walked into the roadway and was struck by a passing vehicle. Rescue crews arrived at the scene and rushed the boy to Vidant Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. The driver remained at the scene following the crash. No additional injuries were reported. Police have not identified the driver at this time.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing. There are no additional details available.
