Jacksonville, NC – Two Killed in Car Accident on Burgaw Highway

Jacksonville, NC (April 10, 2021) – The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a deadly crash in Jacksonville on Friday, April 9th. The collision took place around 2:00 p.m. on Burgaw Highway near the intersection with Pony Farm Road.

According to troopers, two vehicles were involved in the accident. According to Glenn Hargett, Onslow County Public Information Officer, two people died as a result of the crash. There are no details regarding the events leading up to the accident. The identities of the victims have not been released. The crash caused the highway to be closed for several hours while troopers investigated the scene. Traffic was diverted and motorists were advised to find alternate routes of travel. There were no additional injuries reported as a result of the accident
