Greensboro, NC (September 6, 2021) – The Greensboro Police Department is investigating after a deadly hit-and-run accident early Sunday morning. The accident took place around 3:30 a.m. on Lanada Road near the intersection with Stanley Road and West Wendover Avenue.
The GPD received a call and responded to the scene shortly after. According to officers, a pedestrian was walking on Lanada when they were hit by a vehicle. The vehicle is described as a black 2006 to 2009 Lexus IS250. The Lexus driver fled the scene after striking the pedestrian. Rescue crews arrived and treated the injured victim but ultimately they succumbed to their injuries. The victim has not been identified.
Officers are searching for the hit-and-run suspect. The vehicle is believed to have damage to its left side and may be missing a piece of its bumper. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Greensboro Crime Stoppers.
