Garner, NC (September 7, 2021) – Police in Garner are investigating after a man was killed in a crash involving a motor scooter on Monday evening. The accident happened around 5:15 p.m. on Mechanical Boulevard near the intersection with Hammond Road.
According to a report from the Garner Police Department, 64-year-old Terry Anthony Weaver was riding his schooler on Mechanical Boulevard. As he was traveling, he was hit by a car that tried to pass his scooter to the left. Weaver was treated at the scene and then later transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the car has not been identified at this time. There were no other injuries reported in the collision. The road was closed until approximately 8:30 p.m. Motorists were asked to avoid the area.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing. There is no word on any potential charges at this time.
