Statesville, NC (April 9, 2021) – A toddler died in a pedestrian crash in Statesville on Tuesday, April 6th. The incident took place on 5th Street near the intersection with Winston Avenue and Garner Bagnal Boulevard.
The Statesville Police Department responded to the crash scene. According to police, the boy was near the road when he was hit by a 2010 Ford Taurus that was traveling southbound on 5th Street. The boy was rushed to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. No one else was hurt in the crash.
The driver of the Taurus was not identified. An investigation is still ongoing at this time and there is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed.
