Pedestrian Accidents in North Carolina
A North Carolina pedestrian accident can result in severe and devastating injuries for victims. In the worst-case scenario, these crashes can end in death for the pedestrian. In other cases, the pedestrian will suffer major injuries, including broken bones, head trauma, fractures, and soft tissue injuries. These types of injuries can have a long recovery time and will involve costly and extensive medical treatment.
In many North Carolina pedestrian crashes, the pedestrian is not at fault for the accident. This can happen when the driver fails to yield or fails to see a pedestrian in the roadway. Distracted, impaired, and reckless drivers can lead to catastrophic accidents taking place in a matter of seconds. All it takes is a single instance of negligent driving to cause a crash that can result in catastrophic injuries. Authorities must carefully investigate each pedestrian crash in order to determine who should be held responsible.
