Lillington, NC (March 3, 2021) – A man from Sanford died in a head-on crash in Harnett County on Tuesday. The collision occurred just after 7:00 a.m. on North Carolina Highway 24 near Claude White Road.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene. According to Trooper R.M. Lee, Seth Ashton Cochrane, of Cameron, was driving a 2000 Dodge truck eastbound on N.C. 24 when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle crossed the centerline of the roadway. While in the westbound lanes, the truck collided head-on with a 2002 Dodge truck driven by 37-year-old Thomas Owen Partridge. Patridge suffered critical injuries and died at the accident scene.
Cochrane was taken to Central Carolina Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. It is not clear if alcohol played a role. No further information is available.
We would like to extend our most sincere condolences to the family of Thomas Owen Partridge following this fatal head-on crash in Lillington.
Fatal Accidents in North Carolina
A North Carolina car accident can have life-altering effects. These crashes occur very suddenly and unexpectedly and, in the worst-case scenario, can result in the loss of a friend or loved one. Last year in our state, there were approximately 270,000 reported traffic accidents, nearly 80,000 injuries, and more than 1,400 fatalities. Most car accidents are entirely preventable and are caused due to basic human errors or driver negligence. A head-on crash is an example of the types of serious crashes that occur suddenly and can claim the lives of innocent victims.
If you have been injured or if you have lost a loved one in a North Carolina traffic accident, you should seek the assistance of a trained and experienced attorney as soon as possible.
