The Lexington Police Department responded to the scene on U.S. Highway 64 near Forrest Hill. According to police reports, 20-year-old Austin Cranford was riding his motorcycle near the intersection when the van pulled in front of him. The two vehicles collided with one another. Rescue workers attempted to save Cranford but were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the crash scene. There were no other injuries reported in the crash.
