Johnston County, NC – Man Killed in Buckeye Trail Pedestrian Crash

Johnston County, NC (July 7, 2020) – A man was killed in a pedestrian crash in Johnston County on Tuesday morning. The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Buckeye Trail and NC Highway 50.
According to reports, a 2016 Dodge Charger was traveling northbound on NC 50 when it struck a man in the travel lanes. The victim, who was described as a Hispanic male in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the crash scene. The Johnston County EMS, along with fire crews, responded to the scene. The pedestrian’s name has not been released at this time.

It is not clear at this time if any charges are expected. Anyone with information on the crash should contact the State Highway Patrol at (919) 934-2186.
