Greenville, NC (July 12, 2020) – A Greenville police officer suffered injuries in a multi-car accident on Saturday. The crash took place at the intersection of Evans Street and Arlington Boulevard.
According to Lt. Dale Mills of the GPD, the officer was responding to a call when the crash took place. The officer’s blue lights and siren were activated when he arrived at the intersection of Evans and Arlington. As he entered the intersection, a collision occurred with another vehicle.
Greenville Fire and Rescue responded to the crash scene. The injured officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. At least one of the other drivers involved in the crash was also transported. There is no further update on the conditions of the injured victims at this time. Traffic was backed up in both directions near the crash scene as crews worked to clear away the wreckage.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
