Greensboro, NC – Raymond Lamont Cheek Killed in Pedestrian Crash

Greensboro, NC (June 28, 2020) – A 56-year-old man was killed in a Greensboro pedestrian crash on Friday, June 26th. The crash happened just after 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of East Market Street and Gillespie Street.

According to the Greensboro Police Department, 41-year-old Nathaniel Jenkins of Charlotte was driving a 2011 Lexus SUV on East Market when he struck Raymond Lamont Cheek. Cheek was walking along East Market when the crash occurred. Rescue workers arrived and pronounced Cheek dead at the crash scene.

Following an investigation, Jenkins was charged with failing to reduce speed, driving while impaired, driving while license revoked and felony death by motor vehicle.
