Greensboro, NC (January 7, 2021) – A man from Greensboro suffered injuries in a hit-and-run accident that occurred in the city on Tuesday, January 5th. The crash was reported just after 8:00 a.m on SR 3037 near SR 3039.
The Greensboro Police Department and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the crash. According to a report from Trooper H.S. Martin of the Highway Patrol, Nicholas James Blackwell, of Greensboro, was driving a 2020 Jeep westbound on SR 3037 when he came to a stop sign at the intersection. Blackwell failed to stop and entered the intersection where he collided with a 1995 Ford driven by George David Bushong of Greensboro. Bushong was hurt in the crash and was taken to Wesley Long Hospital for treatment. There is no word on his condition at this time.
Blackwell fled the scene after the accident and before police could arrive. He was later located in a garage near Gramercy Park and was issued charges for driving with a revoked license and failing to stop at a stop sign.
