Greensboro, NC – Five Hospitalized in Car Accident on Hicone Road

Greensboro, NC (February 12, 2021) – Five people were hospitalized after a crash in Guilford County in Thursday, February 11th. The crash took place around 5:00 p.m. on Hicone Road near the intersection with Red Cedar Road.

According to authorities, a truck was stopped while waiting to turn left onto Red Cedar Road. There was a second vehicle stopped behind the first vehicle. At the same time, a third car came to the intersection and failed to stop, rear-ending the second vehicle and causing a chain reaction crash. Both the truck and the second car went off the road after the collision.

Rescue crews arrived at the scene to provide medical aid to the victims. Three children, ages 5, 7, and 6 months were hospitalized. Two adults were also taken to the hospital. The conditions of the injured victims are not known at this time. Following an investigation, police charged 27-year-old Amberiya Whitsett-Dotts with failure to reduce speed and a child restraint violation. No additional details have been released at this time.
