Greensboro, NC – Dijona Brown Killed in South English Street Accident

Greensboro, NC (August 5, 2020) – A Greensboro woman was killed in a crash after the vehicle in which she was riding crashed into a house on Wednesday. The collision took place around 1:43 a.m. on South English Street.

The Greensboro Police Department reports that 27-year-old Devon Carter of Greensboro was traveling southbound on South English Street at a high rate of speed. Carter lost control of his car near the Gate City Boulevard intersection. The vehicle careened off the roadway before striking a house on Wythe Street.

33-year-old Dijona Brown, a passenger in the car, suffered critical injuries in the accident and died at the crash scene. Carter was not hurt in the accident. The house was occupied when the crash took place but no one inside was injured.

Police issued several charges against Carter including Driving While Impaired, felony death by motor vehicle, no operator’s license, and failure to maintain lane control. The GPD crash reconstruction unit is investigating the accident at this time. No further information has been released.
