Fatal Car Accidents in North Carolina

Greene County, NC - Justina McCullough Identified in Fatal Crash on US 258

A tragedy can happen at any time on the roadway. You may be following all the rules and driving carefully but a negligent driver can change all of that in a matter of seconds. Last year in North Carolina, more than 1,400 people were victims of fatal car accidents in our state. There are just over three fatal crashes reported in North Carolina every day.

After a deadly accident occurs, police must carefully investigate the scene to determine how the accident took place and which driver should be held responsible. If you have lost a loved one due to the negligence of another motorist, you may have the right to file a wrongful death claim. A North Carolina wrongful death lawsuit must be filed within two years of the date of death and is typically started by the deceased’s next-of-kin.
