Garner, NC (December 28, 2021) – The Garner Police Department responded to the scene of a serious accident involving a young child on Christmas night. The crash happened just after 10:00 p.m. in the 1600 block of Woodlan Road near Timber Drive and Vandora Springs Road.
According to a report from the scene, the 2-year-old boy was struck by a Toyota Prius. It is not clear if he was in a driveway or in the road at the of the collision. The boy was rushed to WakeMed in Raleigh where he was listed in critical condition. The Prius remained at the scene after the accident. There is no word on what caused the crash to occur at this time.
The road was blocked for several hours while police investigated. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed at this time. No further information has been released.
