Four Oaks, NC (September 6, 2022) – The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a serious car accident in Four Oaks on Monday, September 6th. The accident happened on US Highway 701 near the intersection with Keen Road.
According to an initial report, a tractor-trailer was traveling northbound on Highway 701 when a utility truck turned left into the path of the tractor-trailer. This caused a head-on collision between the two vehicles. Following the initial impact, the trucks collided with a second tractor-trailer that was parked at a nearby restaurant. The two tractor-trailers caught fire after the collision while the utility truck came to rest in a ditch. A total of four people were hurt in the crash and were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. There is no word on their identities at this time.
Troopers are still investigating the accident. It is unknown whether any charges are expected to be filed. No additional details are available.
