Durham, NC – Jon Latham Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Durham Freeway

Durham, NC (August 4, 2020) – A 44-year-old man from Cary was killed in a pedestrian crash on the Durham Freeway on Tuesday morning. The crash was reported around 5:30 a.m. near Ellis Road and Glover Road.

According to police, Jon Ryan Latham was walking near the freeway when he was hit by several vehicles. Latham sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead by rescue workers at the crash scene.  Traffic in the northbound lanes was shut down for several hours while police worked at the scene and conducted an investigation and motorists were urged to find alternate routes of travel. Although several vehicles are suspected to be involved, police are currently focusing on a silver or gray Dodge Grand Caravan. It is believed that the Grand Caravan is missing pieces from its front bumper.
