Charlotte, NC – Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Mount Holly Road

Charlotte, NC (August 22, 2020) – A man was struck and killed by a vehicle in Charlotte on Friday, August 21st. The crash was reported at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Mount Holly Road near Sonoma Valley.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the scene shortly after the accident took place. According to reports, the victim was walking in the 9700 block of the roadway when he was hit by a car. The unidentified male pedestrian suffered critical injuries as a result of the accident was later pronounced dead at the crash scene. There is no word on whether the driver remained at the scene. No information has been released on the events leading up to the accident. The crash caused Mount Holly Road to be shut down for several hours near the exit for I-485.
Police continue to investigate the incident at this time. There is additional information available.
