Charlotte, NC – Aaron Jenson Lyle Killed in University City Blvd. Hit-and-Run

Charlotte, NC (August 3, 2020) – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is seeking leads following a deadly Charlotte hit-and-run crash that took place over the weekend. The crash was reported around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 2nd.

After receiving a call regarding the crash, police responded to the scene in the 7300 block of University City Boulevard. Once on the scene, police found 35-year-old Aaron Jenson Lyle lying in the roadway. Rescue workers arrived and pronounced Lyle dead as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

According to reports, police believe that Lyle was walking on University City towards I-85 when he was hit by a silver G-35 or G-37 Infiniti. The Infiniti is believed to be between a 2009 and 2011 model vehicle. The driver of the Infiniti fled the scene after striking Lyle.

Police are still looking to identify the suspect at this time. The vehicle is believed to have a temporary license tag in its rear window with damage to the front right bumper and right headlight area. The car may also have damage to its windshield.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Detective Crum with the CMPD at 704-432-2169 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. There is no further information available at this time.
