Fatal Car Accidents in North Carolina
Of the nearly 300,000 North Carolina car accidents that are reported annually in our state, more than 1,400 are fatal. While most traffic accidents are relatively minor in nature, the sad reality is that innocent victims can and do lose their lives every day due to the reckless and careless actions of other drivers. Speeding is a major cause of many serious and fatal crashes in our state and can result in a catastrophic outcome under the worst circumstances.
When your loved one has been killed by the negligent actions of another driver, the last thing you should have to worry about is building a legal case against the person responsible. During this time, your focus should rightfully be on your family and on figuring out a way to move forward in the face of sudden tragedy. You have many important matters to tend to and worrying about the outcome of your case should not distract you from other things during this time. For this reason, it is important to speak with a North Carolina wrongful death lawyer to get help as soon as possible.
Under North Carolina law, you may be entitled to receive compensation to help you with funeral and medical bills and to replace lost wages that are caused by the untimely death of your loved one. This compensation can be pursued by filing a North Carolina wrongful death lawsuit against the other driver. At Burton Law Firm, Raleigh wrongful death attorney Jason M. Burton has been handling these complex cases for nearly a decade. Since that time, Mr. Burton has recovered more than 40 million dollars in compensation for injured crash victims and their families.
