North Carolina Motorcycle Accidents  Cary, NC - Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Old Maynard Rd.

Motorcycle accidents are, unfortunately, quite common in and around the Raleigh area. As the second-largest city in the state, our community sees a lot of motor vehicle traffic, including motorcycles. Motorcycles have become a common mode of transportation and many people enjoy riding them as a hobby. With this, however, comes a major risk of being seriously hurt or killed in a crash. Motorcycles offer little protection from the impact of a collision and any type of accident with a larger vehicle can result in a bad outcome for the motorcyclist. This risk is further compounded by the number of negligent motorists that are on North Carolina’s roadways each day. Many motorists do not even see motorcyclists until it is too late to avoid a tragic accident.

If you or a loved one have been affected by a North Carolina motorcycle accident, you are not alone. According to statistics from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, there were 3,516 motorcycle crashes in North Carolina in 2019. A total of 184 people were killed in these crashes while 2,728 were hurt. Many of the injuries that occur in motorcycle accidents are very serious and require long-term and expensive medical care.

Under North Carolina law, you could have valuable legal rights if you have been affected by a motorcycle crash. If your loved one was in the accident, you may have the right to file a wrongful death action to seek financial compensation on their behalf. If you were hurt, you can pursue the claim directly.
