Archdale, NC – Two Killed in Crash Involving Motorcycle on Driftwood Dr.

Archdale, NC (September 14, 2021) – Two people died in an accident involving a car and a motorcycle in Archdale on Monday night. The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on Driftwood Drive near North Carolina Highway 311.

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office initially responded to the crash scene. According to deputies, 63-year-old Roger Tucker, of Archdale, was operating his vehicle on Driftwood Drive when he came to the intersection with N.C. 311. Tucker made a left turn onto the highway. At the same time, a motorcycle driven by 22-year-old Davis Rutledge, of Trinity, was coming towards Tucker’s car at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle collided with the driver’s side door of the car at nearly 100 mph.

Both Tucker and Rutledge were killed as a result of the collision. There were no other motorists or vehicles involved in the accident.

Police have not released any additional details at this time.
