Our thoughts and best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery go out to those injured in this accident.
According to statistics released by the North Carolina Department of Transportation, there were 916 accidents involving mopeds in our state in 2019. Nearly 85% of all moped accidents in North Carolina resulted in injuries and 3.5% of moped crashes resulted in death. Many moped drivers will sustain serious injuries when they are involved in crashes on our roadways. Smaller vehicles such as mopeds do not offer the same level of protection as larger passenger vehicles and their riders are therefore more vulnerable to being seriously injured in crashes.
If you have been hurt in a crash involving a moped or three-wheeled vehicle in North Carolina, you could be entitled to compensation. Many of these accidents are caused by the negligence of other drivers. Other motorists often fail to yield the right of way or fail to see smaller vehicles on the roadway which can result in major accidents. Under North Carolina law, injured victims can recover compensation for their pain and suffering, lost wages, medical bills, and more.
