Vanceboro, NC – One Killed, One Hurt in Crash Between Van and Log Truck

Vanceboro, NC (January 13, 2021) – The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of an accident involving a log truck and a van in Vanceboro on Wednesday, January 13th. The crash happened around 11:15 a.m. on Highway 17.

According to a report from troopers, a van was traveling northbound when it crossed over the center line and collided head-on with a log truck. The crash caused logs to spill onto the roadway. Rescue crews arrived at the scene shortly after the accident occurred. Officials report that the van driver, Gregory Henderson, died at the accident scene. The driver of the log truck, Willard Verville, was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

There is no word on what caused the accident to take place at this time. Police are still investigating and no further information is available.
