Stokes County, NC – Christopher Cowden Killed in Two-Car Crash on N.C. 8

Stokes County, NC (April 4, 2021) – A 45-year-old man from Danbury died in a car accident in Stokes County on Saturday morning. The collision was reported around 6:50 a.m. along North Carolina Highway 8.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene. According to troopers, a Chevrolet Suburban was traveling northbound on N.C. 8. At the same time, a Pontiac Bonneville was traveling southbound. The Suburban then crossed the center line near Bolejack Road and collided head-on with the Pontiac. The Pontiac driver, 45-year-old Christopher Michael Cowden, of Danbury, was killed in the crash. The Suburban driver, who was not identified, sustained minor injuries in the accident. There were no other vehicles involved in the collision.

Charges are pending against the driver of the Suburban and troopers believe that inattention played a role in the crash.
