Sampson County, NC – Ciana Townsend Killed in Crash on N.C. 41

Sampson County, NC (November 5, 2020) – A 49-year-old woman lost her life in a crash that took place in Sampson County on Wednesday, November 4th. The crash took place around 8:00 a.m. on North Carolina Highway 41 near CC Road.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene. According to Trooper W.A. Davis, a 2002 Honda Accord was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed. The car veered off the roadway to the right before coming back onto the road and spinning out of control. The vehicle then went off the left side of the road and overturned.

A front-seat passenger, 49-year old Ciana Michelle Townsend, was killed in the crash. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 42-year-old Antwan Daniels. Daniels was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in serious condition.

Troopers are still investigating the crash at this time and charges are pending against Daniels. There is no additional information at this time.
