Raleigh, NC – Two Cars Involved in Saturday Crash on Aviation Parkway

Raleigh, NC (February 21, 2021) – Police and rescue officials responded to a major car accident in Raleigh on Saturday, February 20th. The crash took place just after 3:00 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Aviation Parkway at exit 285.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the accident. According to reports from officials, two cars were headed westbound on I-40 when they collided with one another. There is no word on the exact cause of the crash at this time. Following the initial impact, at least one of the vehicles crashed into a guardrail in the highway median, causing damage to the guardrail.

EMS crews arrived at the scene just after the crash took place. There were injuries reported as a result of the accident, although the nature and the extent of the injuries are not clear at this time.

The accident caused at least two lanes of the highway to be closed according to video footage from the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The road later reopened around 3:00 p.m. Motorists were advised to use caution when traveling near the scene.
