Huntersville, NC (September 28, 2020) – Rescue crews responded to a serious accident in Huntersville on Monday, September 28th. The crash was reported in the southbound lanes of Interstate 77 near the I-485 interchange around 2:00 a.m.
According to reports from the scene, the accident involved a tractor-trailer and several construction vehicles. The driver of the tractor-trailer was killed in the crash. At least one person was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A second person was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The identities of the deceased victims have not been released at this time. There is no information on what caused the crash to occur.
Rescue crews blocked off several lanes of I-77 while they worked at the scene and investigated the crash. Officials remained at the scene for about 90 minutes.
