Highway Accidents in North Carolina  Hickory, NC - One Critically Hurt in Thursday Crash on I-40

There are several major highways that run throughout North Carolina. These highways are traveled by tens of thousands of vehicles every day, making them a common area for car accidents to occur. With higher speed limits, greater traffic volume, congestion, and negligent drivers, highway driving can be dangerous and deadly for motorists. Many North Carolina car accidents occur on highways such as Interstate 40 and thousands of injuries are reported in highway crashes each year.

If you have been hurt in a car accident in North Carolina, it is important to understand that you may have legal rights following the crash. If you were injured at the hands of a negligent driver, your legal rights could include the right to receive compensation for your injuries, including your medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. North Carolina law allows drivers who were not at fault in the crash to file a personal injury claim against the other motorist. These claims must typically be filed within three years of the accident date.

Before you take any legal action regarding your case, you should first speak with an experienced North Carolina car accident attorney. Motorists who try to handle their own personal injury claims often end up making crucial mistakes in the process. This can lead to a settlement that is far lower than what your case is actually worth. This can jeopardize your future and your financial status following the crash. Having a skilled attorney on your side can ensure that you are in a good position as you move forward following the collision.
