Garner, NC (January 25, 2022) – The Garner Police Department responded to the scene of a deadly pedestrian accident on Tuesday, January 25th. The crash occurred around 7:00 p.m. on US Highway 41 near Old Stage Road and Pinewinds Drive.

According to a report, the pedestrian attempted to cross the road when they were hit by a vehicle. The pedestrian, who was not identified, died at the accident scene. The driver of the car was not injured. There is no word on the events leading up to the accident.

The road was closed following the collision. Drivers were advised to avoid the area and to find alternate routes of travel if possible. The crash remains under investigation and there is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed.
