Garner, NC – Ceon Bazile Hurt in Rear-End Crash on I-40

Garner, NC (December 26, 2020) – Three people suffered injuries after a rear-end collision on Interstate 40 in Garner. The crash took place near U.S. Highway 70 on Tuesday, December 22nd at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Trooper Z.S. Clay of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene. According to a report, Noe Fernando Vallejo-Carrera of Benson was driving a 2005 Chevrolet eastbound on I-40 when traffic slowed in front of her. Vallejo-Carrera failed to reduce her speed and collided with the back of a 2018 Chevrolet driven by Randolph Bazile, Jr. of Jacksonville. Three passengers in Bazile’s vehicle, Ceon Bazile, Cowanda Bazile, and an unidentified minor child were all hurt in the crash. They were taken by ambulance to WakeMed Hospital with unspecified injuries. Vallejo-Carrera was not injured.

Troopers charged Vallejo-Carrera with failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash. No additional details are available at this time.
