Asheboro, NC – Two Hurt in Crash Involving Asheboro Police Officer

Asheboro, NC (January 31, 2020) – At least two people were injured in a car accident involving an Asheboro police officer. The crash took place at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29th.

Officials were called to the intersection of N. Fayetteville and W. Salisbury Street in response to the crash. According to a report, the Asheboro officer was responding to a call when his car collided with a white vehicle in the intersection. The officer and the driver of the white car were both taken to a local hospital to be evaluated, There is no word on what caused the accident to take place and the identities of those involved are not available at this time. Motorists were advised to use caution when traveling in the area.

Police are still investigating and it is unclear whether any charges are expected in the incident.
