Winston-Salem, NC (April 2, 2021) – A man from Gibsonville was hurt in a two-vehicle accident that took place in Winston-Salem on Thursday, April 1st. The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 52 near Rams Drive at approximately 4:55 p.m.
According to Officer M. Stultz of the Winston-Salem Police Department, Gary Wayne Hayes was operating a 2016 Lincoln southbound on U.S. 52 when he slowed for traffic. At the same time, Anan Arbor, of Winston-Salem, was driving a 2020 Kia, also southbound on U.S. 52. Anan was traveling directly behind Hayes but failed to slow his vehicle for traffic in front of him. Anan’s car collided with the back of Hayes’s vehicle.
Hayes and two of his passengers were injured in the crash. All three victims were taken to Baptist Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. There is no word on their conditions at this time. Arbor was not injured in the accident. Officer Stultz charged Arbor with failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
