Winston-Salem, NC – Dwight Parsons Killed in DUI Crash on NC 8

Winston-Salem, NC (June 6, 2022) – A motorcyclist was killed in a DUI crash that took place in Winston-Salem on Saturday, June 4th. The accident took place on North Carolina Highway 8 near Germanton Road and Pebblebrook Road.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene. According to a report from troopers, 36-year-old Demetric Christopher Parker, of Whiteville, was driving south on NC 8 when he traveled left of center. Parker’s car struck a motorcycle head-on. Parker then fled the scene immediately after the collision.

The rider of the motorcycle, 55-year-old Dwight Edward Parsons, of Pine Hall, died as a result of the accident. His passenger was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Parker was later located by the NCSHP. He was charged with driving while impaired. Additional charges are pending the outcome of an investigation.
