Fatal Accidents in North Carolina  Wilkes County, NC - Clyde Delano Cox Killed in Head-On Crash on N.C. 268

A serious or fatal car accident can happen in a matter of seconds. One minute you may be driving down the road and minding your own business on the way to your destination and the next you can find yourself as the victim of a negligent driver. Many serious car accidents in North Carolina are unavoidable due to the fact that the negligent driver places the other motorist in a position from which there is no escape. The most common types of serious and fatal car accidents involve drivers who cross over into an oncoming lane of travel or who fail to stop at stop signs or red lights.

Although the impacts of a North Carolina car accident can be devastating for victims and their loved ones, there are remedies available. Under the law, a victim’s next-of-kin can bring a wrongful death claim against the motorist who caused the crash. This typically occurs when a driver has engaged in negligent, careless, or intentional actions which resulted in the death of an innocent person. The types of compensation recoverable in North Carolina wrongful death claims include payment for pain and suffering, funeral and medical bills, and loss of companionship, and potentially more.

Wrongful death claims are complicated and should only be handled by a skilled lawyer who is knowledgeable in this area of the law. Trying to handle the claim yourself or going with an inexperienced attorney is a recipe for disaster. North Carolina wrongful death lawyer Jason M.
