Raleigh, NC – Woman Hit, Killed in Duke Hospital Parking Deck

Raleigh, NC (July 16, 2021) – A woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle in a hospital parking deck on Friday, July 16th. The crash happened around 3:15 p.m. at the Raleigh campus of Duke Hospital on Wake Forest Road.

Police and rescue workers rushed to the scene after receiving a report of a collision. According to investigators, a woman in her 70s was walking in the deck when a van attempted to make a turn. The van struck the woman who suffered critical injuries. She was later pronounced dead due to injuries suffered in the collision. Her identity is not available at this time. There were no additional injuries reported and the driver has not been identified. The crash is under investigation at this time and it is not clear whether any charges are expected to be filed.
