Raleigh, NC (April 20, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a crash that was reported in Raleigh on Wednesday, April 20th. The accident occurred around 4:00 a.m. on Interstate 440 near the exit for Lake Boone Trail.
The Raleigh Police Department and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene. When they arrived, police found the male pedestrian lying in the roadway after being struck by multiple vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the accident scene. The victim’s identity was not immediately released. The crash resulted in the westbound lanes of the roadway being closed for several hours while an investigation was conducted. Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
It is not clear whether any charges are expected to be filed at this time. There is no further information available.
