Magnolia, NC – One Killed, One Hurt in School Bus Crash on Hwy. 117

Magnolia, NC (May 13, 2022) – Police in Magnolia are investigating after a deadly crash involving a school bus on US Highway 117. The accident happened on Thursday, May 12th along US Highway 117 near The House of Raeford.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene. According to troopers, the driver of a car was traveling southbound on US 117 when they crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound school bus. The driver of the car, later identified as Jackie Sellers, died at the accident scene. The school bus driver was taken to a local hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. There were no students on the bus at the time of the accident. No other injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved.

The crash remains under investigation at this time. There is no additional information available.
