Fatal Moped Accidents in North Carolina  Lumberton, NC - William Haggins Killed in Monday Moped Crash

Motorcycles, mopeds, and other two-wheeled vehicles are frequently used as a means of transportation by many drivers across our state. While these types of vehicles are popular, they also come with significant risks. According to statistics from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, more than 80% of all motorcycle accidents that took place in our state in 2018 led to some type of reported injury. To make matters worse, the injuries that are caused by motorcycle and moped crashes are often severe, requiring hospitalization and extensive medical treatments. In the worst-case scenario, the victim is killed as a result of the crash.

A moped accident in North Carolina must be carefully investigated by authorities. Due to the fact that these crashes happen so suddenly, investigators will look closely at the scene and will attempt to determine the events that led up to the crash. Many moped and motorcycle accidents occur due to negligent drivers. These drivers are typically speeding, distracted, impaired, or engaging in some other type of behavior that increases the risk of a crash. Unfortunately, innocent victims and their families too often have to pay the price for these negligent behaviors.
