Lexington, NC – Two Injured in Hit-and-Run on Highway 8

Lexington, NC (November 16, 2020) – The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of an injury crash on Sunday, November 15th. The crash along North Carolina Highway 9 in Lexington near City Lake Road.

According to troopers, a white Acura TSX was traveling northbound on Highway 8 when the driver struck two pedestrians who were walking on the shoulder of the roadway. Rather than remaining at the scene, the driver fled the area before police could arrive. The two crash victims were identified as 46-year-old John Tracy Jones and 40-year-old Joshua Caleb Crocker. Both Jones and Crocker were taken to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Crocker suffered serious injuries, while Jones suffered minor injuries.

The Highway Patrol is asking for assistance in locating the driver. The car is believed to be between a 2009 and 2014 model and may have damage to the right side.
