Laurinburg, NC – Two Killed in Head-On Crash on Hwy. 74

Laurinburg, NC (July 22, 2022) – Two people lost their lives in a head-on crash that took place near Laurinburg on Friday, July 22nd. The accident took place on Highway 74 just before noon.

According to First Sgt. E.C. Roten with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a pickup truck and another vehicle collided head-on as one of the vehicles was traveling the wrong way on Highway 74. Troopers say that 41-year-old Jonathan Milligan died at the accident scene. The 83-year-old driver of the other vehicle was also killed in the crash but was not identified. The cause of the accident has not been publicly released at this time. Police shut down the westbound lanes of the highway for several hours while the accident was investigated. Motorists were asked to avoid the scene as the road was closed.
