Hillsborough, NC – One Hurt in NC 86 Crash Between Two Tractor-Trailers

Hillsborough, NC (July 1, 2020) – The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to a crash between two tractor-trailers in Hillsborough on Wednesday, July 1st. The crash happened on NC 86 near I-85.

Troopers report that one of the tractor-trailers rear-ended the other, causing both to erupt into flames after the crash. Firefighters arrived at the scene and extinguished the flames from the accident. One driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. There were no additional injuries reported as a result of the crash but the roadway remained closed for over five hours while authorities were at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
