Greensboro, NC – Two Hurt in Hit-and-Run Crash on Burlington Road

Greensboro, NC (July 5, 2020) – Two pedestrians were taken a  hospital following a hit-and-run crash in Greensboro. The crash took place around 1:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 4th.

Officers with the Greensboro Police Department were called to the scene in response to traffic congestion. When police arrived, they saw a dark-colored sedan strike the two pedestrians as they were crossing the road. The driver, Christopher Marcel Whitsett, attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by officers. Whitsett faces numerous charges including driving while impaired, felony serious injury by vehicle, careless and reckless driving, and felony hit-and-run.

The two crash victims were taken to a local hospital and were treated for their injuries. The GPD continues to investigate the crash.
