Graham, NC (September 26, 2020) – Police and rescue crews were on the scene of a car accident in Graham on Friday, September 25th. The crash happened near the exit ramp for mile marker 147 along Interstate 40.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the crash took place around 4:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the highway. Police, along with the Graham Fire Department, responded to the accident scene. Details regarding the accident are unclear at this time, however, one vehicle was found lying on its side in the roadway between the dividing wall and another vehicle. Two people were trapped inside the overturned vehicle and had to be extricated by fire crews. EMS vehicles were at the scene to assist injured victims. There is no word on the extent of injuries suffered at this time. No one involved in the accident was identified.
Police are still investigating the accident. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed.
